Alexandra M. Kwoka – Attorney at Law
Alexandra M. Kwoka has been practicing law since 1974, and Family Law for 30 years. She is not only certified as a Family Law Specialist but also holds a LLM/Masters in Tax Law. Her education includes: LLM in Tax Law - University of San Diego 2001; JD - University of Chicago 1974; BA - University of Pittsburgh 1970. She has been a Certified Legal Specialist in Family Law since 1998. Before opening her California law practice, she was employed by the U.S. Department of Justice and was Assistant United States Attorney, Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Chicago, Illinois.
Alexandra M. Kwoka has significant experience as a litigation attorney in California where she has tried cases in San Diego and North County Superior Courts, Southern District of California, San Bernardino and Los Angeles Superior Court; she also has trial experience in the Northern District of Illinois, Southern District of Illinois, and U.S. Court of Claims. However, in Family Law cases she prefers, when possible, to use an Alternative Dispute Resolution process, including counseling clients in Mediation. Many of her clients prefer to keep their financial matters out of public record. She is experienced in assisting spouses to resolve their matters outside of court; as for more than five years she has been a member of the panel of Volunteer Family Law Settlement Judges.
Alexandra M. Kwoka is active in the community through memberships in the following associations: the San Diego Bar Association; Certified Family Law Specialists - San Diego & North County; founding member of the Collaborative Family Law Group of San Diego; SDCBA - Carmel Valley; Kids' Turn - Board Member. She has published a number of articles and has been nominated and selected for a number of awards, including the Ten Top Attorneys in Family Law by the Daily Transcript, San Diego in 2006 and has been listed as one of the top Family Law attorneys in San Diego Super Lawyers every year since 2007. |
